Some of this happens in my central pain. I can wear only abbreviated clothing hecause of the pain of touch. After years of slinking around and hearing comments, I finally snapped and found myself going to much more public places in my limited clothing just to convince myself I wasn’t afraid of their eyes and their “sticks and stones”. Later, I got a hold of myself.
